Code generation is a different way to look at development. In a normal way you would try to code for as many generic scenarios, typical by different input and/or differentiating configurations. With code generation you use the configuration to generate code for a specific goal. An important advantage is that the code is a lot more cleaner (exactly for that purpose) with a better performance and is better maintainable. A different advantage is that you can use the possiblities of the platform/framework better. Generated code can also be the basis for easy and quick adaptions.
