Da Vinci Derivatives
ASML

  • Our Story

Da Vinci was founded in 2015 after a group of passionate trading experts found themselves desiring a new way of working.

At Da Vinci, our goal is to build the best proprietary trading house in the world. We strive to keep our work smart and creative, making the most of our team’s strategic minds to challenge existing ways of thinking. We’ve established a unique approach to trading and culture, emphasising openness and collaboration across departments.

We specialise in solving market inefficiencies, identifying opportunities based on volatility arbitrage strategies and providing liquidity to the markets.

We are headquartered in the home of the world’s first stock market, Amsterdam, and have just opened a second office in Mumbai. Today, we trade on the most prominent exchanges across South America, Asia and the US. Our vision is set on sustainable growth, with new offices opening abroad soon.

    Our Vision

Becoming the best in the world means building a team of first-rate talent with the most innovative ideas. The real value comes from how we work and grow together and you can find traders, developers and researchers working side by side every day and enjoying every minute of it. We are non-hierarchical and support employees as they explore different paths to find where their passion and talent aligns. No matter their role, everyone is key to sustainably growing Da Vinci.

We value innovation and excellence in everything we do, encouraging employees to take ownership of their work. We believe that our colleagues must consistently feel stimulated and supported in order to reach their full potential and achieve our ambitious goals.

  • ASML is a high-tech company headquartered in the Netherlands. We manufacture complex lithography systems that chipmakers use to produce integrated circuits (microchips). Every day, you use electronics that our machines help make possible – maybe even the device you’re using right now.

Changing the world, one nanometer at a time

In the past three decades, we have grown from a small startup into a multinational company with over 60 locations worldwide and annual net sales of €18.6 billion in 2021. Our customers include all the world’s leading chipmakers like Intel, Samsung and TSMC. We provide them with everything they need – hardware, software and services – to mass produce patterns on silicon through lithography.

Through the development of smaller, faster and more energy efficient microchips, our world has evolved. At ASML, we believe that the semiconductor industry is in a unique position to help tackle some of society's toughest challenges.

    Thinking years ahead

Behind ASML’s innovations are people who think ahead. Our researchers, engineers, scientists and manufacturing specialists, as well as our high-tech hardware and software experts, all work at the edge of what’s possible.

We invest around €2.5 billion per year on R&D, meaning our teams have the resources to experiment, test and push the boundaries of technology. They work in close-knit, multidisciplinary teams, listening to and learning from each other.

    Innovating to the extreme

Working at the cutting edge of technology offers unique challenges, driving our teams to innovate across all fields and disciplines. More than 20 years of sustained R&D brought us the development of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography. As the only supplier of this advanced lithography technology, our engineers are responsible for continuing to develop and perfect these complex systems. One example of this complexity is how EUV light is generated. First, a 30-kilowatt laser fires at tin droplets 50,000 times per second, hitting each droplet twice. The laser vaporizes the tin droplets, creating a plasma hotter than the surface of the sun. This interaction emits EUV light at a wavelength of 13.5 nanometers. And all of this takes place in a vacuum-sealed system

From patterning nanometer-sized structures on a microchip wafer to creating light using lasers and liquid metal,  the work we do can be hard to wrap your head around. Yet  every day around the world, ASML people are solving these seemingly impossible problems and pushing technology to new limits.

    Working toward a sustainable future

We contribute to the advancement of technology and we’re committed to helping develop a more sustainable future. Our strategic sustainability focus areas, including minimizing waste and maximizing resources and supporting corporate citizenship initiatives such as promoting technical education in the communities where we operate, form the foundation for how we conduct our business.
