Junior software developer(s) care platform Emma
Junior software developer(s) care platform Emma

(Additional job for Computer Sciences, Information Science, Physics, Mathematics)

If you are still studying, and you would like to develop software that matters and can help keep patients out of the hospital, then this might be the side job for next to your studies.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for smart students who already have programming experience, who can independently deliver high-quality work. We develop most of our software in Clojure. This functional language has a learning curve, but if you can learn quickly and code well, the benefits will soon come to you. Our tech stack includes: React (Native), Clojure, Javascript, Grails, Java, RabbitMQ and Tomcat. The work is varied, a lot of backend, but also frontend if
necessary.

What do we offer?

You will have the opportunity not only to program something that really matters, but also to learn functional programming under our guidance in a large platform. The work is varied, between backend and frontend, sometimes a project in a different programming language, depending on your strengths and needs. We always start with small projects first, so that we can quickly see where your strengths are and what can be improved. This way you quickly grow into a professional developer.

You work from home most of the time. That gives you flexibility and you can fit it in well between other activities. We work agile, with weekly sprints and stories. You will be coached by an experienced developer, who you can also contact for questions. We have regular meetings in the office (if Corona allows it), so that you really become part of our team.

About Medicine Men

Medicine Men has been building mobile self-management and telemonitoring solutions since 2013. Our Emma platform is unique because of the connections it makes between patients and all their healthcare providers. Our mission is to give chronically ill patients a better quality of life. We do this by providing them with the right information at the right time, so that they can take better control of their own care needs. We do this in collaboration with UMCU, LUMC and general practitioners, among others. Emma is used in general practice care, in hospitals and complex care pathways, from COPD and high blood pressure to persistent abdominal pain in children. Our applications make intensive use of the latest technologies, such as wireless measuring equipment, smartphones and smartwatches.

We are a small company with a very informal atmosphere and short lines of communication. No hassle, just make beautiful things!

Application procedure

The application process is very simple. Send your resume (and possibly your portfolio or LinkedIn) and motivation to vacatures@medicinemen.nl and we will invite you for an interview.

If the vacancy seems interesting to you, but you are hesitant or you have questions about something, send us an email with your question and we will answer it for you.
